 SCAT Annual Message;

Dang-- last week the weather  in SoCal was rainy and forecast for this coming SCAT annual weekend,  March 24-26, looked great. However, current forecast currently shows high winds Sat but greatly improved Sun morning with decreasing winds 1 to 4 mph, 30% chance of rain.

The plan will be to wait out the wind until noon, if still "un-sportsman like conditions" the day will be canceled and try again the next day.

Special Note: this happen last year and the cancellation / reschedule was difficult and so to avoid repeating that,  the
AMA sanction  was set with  Monday as a reserve day, this was published on the flyer.   Monday forecast looks very good so if at all possible, plan to stay and fly and compete on Monday.

Lost Hills Valley Fever

There is a known problem the the South East of the USA with a fungus based medical condition commonly known as Valley Fever or coccidioidomycosis. This can be a problem at Lost Hills. It is more common in October. However an instance has been reported after the recent February Contests at Lost Hills. In most cases the reaction is un-noticed or very mild, however there can be cases that require medical care and a very few that can be serious, The symptoms are typically flu like with a fever and aches that do not go away in a few days. Further details can be found by searching Google under Valley Fever  and find a number of references,  one such is http://www.medicinenet.com/valley_fever/article.htm.. Valley fever can be detected by a number of test, the most reliable being a blood test. It requires special anti-fungal drugs. It will not respond to anti biotics and these should not be prescribed. If you live outside of the USA you should ask your doctor to refer to check online.

Aeroboss tach problems

Hi all...

I got a aeroboss AT-2 tach and it doesn't seem to work- I got this from a fellow

modeler and haven't got a hold of him yet but...This is what it does...

At rest, display reads "0"...when engine is running, it show the battery symbol,

"HV", and 1.8.8.8....I tried a new battery. Any ideas?

Thanks!
