Entrance to the Eloy, AZ Flying Field.
We have had inquires regarding the condition of the entrance to our flying
field from owners of large motorhomes and RVs. The entrance was excessively
steep to be navigated comfortably. Good news. We recently improved the
entrance with considerable fill material. It has been widened and the slope
reduced to make the entrance easily navigated by all long wheel base vehicles
and large 5th wheel trailers. Hope to see many of you at the upcoming
Arizona FF Champs on November 30 and December 1. This is a combined
America's Cup and National Cup contest.

state of John Pon's Plans Services. This not exactly
what SEN is all about and I seem to remember reading about it ..
but these guys must believe that someone here can help them ....

Time Plan Service I Last talked to his grandson
who was running the business in San Jose, CA
Earlier this year and purchased plans He then moved to Olympia,
Washington with his plan service (John Pond) and I just called his
number 1-360-653-8875 It has been reissued
to someone else. I talked with the telephone
information and called all the Pond names in
Olympia with no results. Does anyone have
a way to communicate to his father or grandfather. This is a mystery
what happened
to the plan service. CAN WE FIND OUT WHAT
HAPPENED TO THE JOHN POND OLD TIME
PLAN SERVICE?

ATTN: Morris E. Leventhal
DEC 2002 FM (Old Timer Topics) links you to the sale of John Ponds
plan service , in my opinion anyway ; I am retireing and looking for
something to do with myself for fun and as little profit as possible .
This kind of enterprise is just what I have in mind . Can you tell me
anything about the situation , who is handeling it - I live really out
in the sticks of Idaho and am probably way behind the real-time curve ,
but thought it might be worth an inquerie.

My brother, Paul and I made fly planes along with Art Markiewicz, Bruno's
son. We flew them in the stairwell at Lasky Recreation where the Detroit
Balsa Bugs met. Upstairs were square dancers and, occasionally, one of these
little mike jobs made their way into the small hall where folks were all
dressed in their square dancing best. They never even missed a step!
We would catch flies by putting a small amount of honey in a jar and
leaving it open. When a few would gather, we'd put the lid on (with holes,of
course) and put the jar in the refrigerator. This made the flies slow and
easy to grab. We'd glue them the the front of the models with a dab of
Ambroid on their backs.
No winding, towing or fuel mess. Of course, now, CIAM would insist on
smaller flies.

I wish to thank the NFFS members and other FF fliers,who voted
the Sweepette as one of the Top Ten Models of all time.
Also I would like to take this forum to thank Bob Stalick, NFFS President,
for his efforts on behalf of this worthy tasks completion.
TO think back, over 40 years ago, the first Sweepette was born as
a 6 inch indoor glider. It then grew up over the years, flew in
larger halls and went outside to play as well.
Time REALLY flies too...
And I feel very honored and humble to have a creation of mine
mentioned on the same list as the other 9 outstanding models,
some of which I have also built and flown.
(PS: Including the first Ramrod by other than Ron St. Jean himself, in
1955!)

Well in mine anyway was a flyer from Hobby People about
their Thanksgiving day 5 day sale - has Cirrius cs10
servos on sale for $21 instead of the normal 26 or so.
These are good for F1B e-timer models.
