Walt, I am in the dark too--- now that suspect Brokenspar has an "alibi"
could it be that the perpetrator is a "RC Administrator"?

Could you please describe in detail the rubber testing method
Alex Andruikov demonstrated. I stretch the whole motor and with this
current rubber I break far to many trying to find out the capacity of the
rubber, so using only 6" appeals to me, and I'd like to know how to do it.

Thanks,
Jim Brooks

The pants and tribulations of Mr. Davis

I can relate to and enjoyed your revelations on Rapper pants.
My trusty Nike Air walking shoes have recently gotten a flat on
one side and needed replacement. As usual I headed to the
sale rack at the local sporting goods store where I can always
find a top brand shoe at about 50% off. This time however I had
the misfortune of two tagalong "Fashion Advisors" My daughters
Katie and Betsy. All the shoes I found which matched my requirements
for support and comfort unfortunately failed their requirement
of "My friends will see you in those!!"
So I continue hobbling along on my half flat Nikes as I await
an opportunity to shop alone......Kids, got to love um....---Ken---

Roger,

Please notify SCAT readers that Jim O'Reilly's Model Plans, 4760 N. Battin,
Wichita, KS 67220 now accepts Visa & Mastercard as payment. Hopefully, this
will simplify life for my friends in foreign countries who, heretofore, have
had to resort to sending me cash through the mail. The CAD-drawn plans are
approaching 110 in number and there is a new photo-reproduced section of over
60 entries. An illustrated catalog goes for $2.

New free flighters

Through a series of events I was contacted by a science teacher at our
local high school (Tokay). She needed help for several of her students
that were particapating at the Science Olympiad regionals in Fresno. I
met with the teacher and students at their Science Lab. We went over
their current models (Wright Flyers). They were built well for first
models. I went over building techniques as well as covering and balsa
selection. Most of the day we spent assembling new models which
resembled penny planes. The kids were having problems trimming and
flying their Wright Flyers. We spent several hours in the gym, which has
about a 35' ceiling. We worked on rubber winding, trimming, and tactics.
These kids improved flight times from a best of 30 seconds to well over
a minute. The excitment and energy was well worth my few hours of help.
The parents who came to watch were also excited. The kids and teachers
are really excited about the up and coming contest.
As the day went on several more students arrived at the Science Lab
working on their events. Tower building was one of the events the kids
were having problems with. I showed these kids how to select the grain
of balsa to get the most strength out of their towers. We anaylized the
broken towers for modifications to make them stronger. Once again the
excitment these kids have for the up and coming event is super...
We all wonder where our sport or hobby is going in the future..Well
Ive discovered that its out there and we have to help it grow. The
positve reaction from students, teachers, and parents makes me think
maybe we have a future with a little help from us..Get involved contact
your local schools. Dont let free flight die because we didn't sell
it..An added benefit is I now have an indoor site to fly.

Muncie Motorcycle Storage Survey
================================
Author : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This is a survey to try to identify the number and kind of requirments
for Sportsmen wishing to store
motoycycles durning or between contests held at Muncie throughout a
typical flying season.

The AMA, Joyce Hager, Executive Director, has indicated a willingness to
consider providing such a resource
in 'Pig Barn # 3'. The building would be outfitted appropriately with
designated spaces, means to padlock each bike
( eyebolts, posts ), some shelving, small rolling door for access, light
and electrical. Access woud be with one key/one padlock.
Security is thus provided, and nothing further. General access is thus
unlimited except as access to the field might be
constrained. AMA offers no responsiblity for the care and custody of
the Sportsmans' proterty.

To help forcast utilization of such a facility, the following questions
are listed for your response.
The financial plan would be to recover a modest 'outfitting' cost
through occupancy charges over two years.
With enough input, we can make a business plan.
Your response is requested , returned by April 17, 2000.

Ladies and Gemtlemen,

with great interest I read in your market place for aircraft profiles. I
am wondering if you might connect me to somebody who is offering car
profiles from Profile Publications Limited of the seventies and beyond.

Would be pleased to take advantage for swap or buy.

Thank you HB

fliers already on the field. Temperature in the mid 70 to 80.
Set up camp and after saying hello to every body start training. The wind drop of by night
fall. Prelude for a perfect day on Saturday.
Saturday 6 pm, perfect weather, thermal activity, start very early..
Flying start at 7;30 with an entry of 11 F1A,
8 F1B,and 3 F1C.By mid day temperature rise
to mid 80and very little breeze, very tricky thermal.
FLY OFF to begging at 4;30 with F1A to go first,4 of them
I wonder what ever happened to the F1B fliers? None and the fly off.
Two F1C made it, not bad considering that only 3 were entered.
After the award ceremony all gathered around the bar-b-que for a great fun evening
Great competition good friends, good food, that is what it's all about.
