EDIC-WG approved Sidus EL energy limiter for the FAI F1Q class

I am pleased to inform all interested modelers that the Sidus EL energy limiter for the FAI F1Q class has finally been approved by the EDIC working group.

During the process a new technical requirement was recommended for F1QELs which consists in the immunity of the device to stray or static magnetic fields induced by the motor magnets or by power cables in the immediate vicinity of the current sensor.

The need to fully comply with this important requirement, unfortunately does not allow existing Sidus EL limiters to be brought into conformity with just a firmware update.

The new EDIC approved Sidus EL limiters come with the new V4.0 firmware and have identical dimensions, connections, weight, way of use and price compared to the previous ones. They should be available in early February.
